Well this doily has now reached the point where it is to big for the scanner and I still have 5 more rows to go. It is going to be large and I am loving it. So far I have used 3 skeins of Yarnplayers Fern Hand Dyed Thread size 80 and it is making for a very fine lace doily. I am really happy with the way the colours flow throughout the doily. When this is done it will definitely be a heirloom for one of my kids.

Lovely pattern, Clyde. Size 80 complements the texture of tatting so nicely. I love the way size 80 feels when it's all tatted up.

Your doily's looking awesome, Clyde. That's The Spencer Doily, right? I made the first six rows, but seeing your doily makes me want to continue working on it. Or remake it in HDT.

Thank you everyone for your kind words this is definitely a labour of love, but well worth it and I am sure my daughter will love it as she treasures all the tatting I do for her. It is on display in her dorm at university right now. I am not sure about the name Jeff but I got the pattern from the archives of the on-line classroom.

Yes, it is getting more and more beautiful as it grows. I really admire tatters who use fine threads to work on doilies.
