These two orchid blooms where just to pretty not to post a picture of. They are from a miniature cattleya orchid called Hawaiian Sunrise and the blooms are about 1 1/2 inches across. They come from our collection of over 30 orchids.
Oh Clyde, so beautiful. I make the Cattleya orchid in sugar paste for my cakes, but I have never done them in this colour! Hmmmm I feel a trial coming on!
Two years back, mum and me went to a market selling orchids. We had to walk back to our car which was parked so far away (it was like a fair). Unfortunately out of ten, three has bloomed all at different times and in purple. Pictures taken but lost somewhere in my notebook at home.
