This is the start to the large doily that I am in the process of creating. I am using Yarnplayers, Fern size 80 HDT. The doily will be about 18 inches when done. The pattern comes from Needlecraft, February 1925 and can be found at http://www.georgiaseitz.com/books/nc/ncfeb25pg20.jpg . I would have posted a picture sooner but after I finished 4 rows I noticed an error in a previous row so it was back to the beginning.

What a lot of work...only to have found that mistake...How frustrating. I cannot tell you how many times I've had to perform "tatting surgery" It's oh, so painful, almost as painful as starting over. At least you're persistent! Those kinds of situations sometimes turn into UFO's at my house, LOL.

WOW that's going to be gorgeous. Glad you got it right in the end..you would always have seen the mistake.
'Fern' looks fab for it.

You are tempting me to make another doiley this time with HDT!

Would love to know how much thread you use. You did say for the Tatters Treasure chest one I think.

Another job well done. The doily is going to be fabulous. The HDT is gorgeous, of course. I'm sorry you had problems, but glad you persisted.

It is looking good! You are tempting me to start on a doily as well - maybe not until I finish what I have in hand right now.

Gorgeous - I have only just seen it, a week later! - but sadly the link you gave to Georgia's site isn't working.
