Well the decision has been made. I decided that if I continued on with this doily it would get to big for it's intended purpose and after looking over the rest of the pattern I was not crazy on how it ended so here it is. This is the new home for the rather large piece of green calcite that we have. I am really happy with the way the two shades of green in the doily blend in with the many shades of green in the green calcite.

The greens do blend nicely! I think they make a perfect pair!
Any semi-precious, or precious, stone would be honored to have such a lovely background! The colours are lovely together. I think you made the right decision to stop.
Lovey piece. I agree with your decision to stop. It is just the right size to complement and not overshadow the green calcite.
What a striking combo!
Ahhh, wise choice -- I haven't seen the whole doily pattern, but I do love the round you chose to end with. The greens are just perfect with each other!
Surely they were made for one-another because they look FABULOUS together. :)
Thank you everyone for your wonderful comments.
I peeked at your blog several days ago... but had to come back to say.... LOVE the doily... and although I think the combination of calcite and doily are BEAUTIFUL, inspired really...... I wish the doily was on display by itself... the colors in it rival the calcite in perfection! I feel a bit like I am 'getting carried away' but this is the perfect doily! :)
They do look great together. Both the tatting and the rock are extra-special.
You do such gorgeous work. I love the colors! You have done some really wonderful work!
