Wednesday's Inspiration

It is another growing season and this is how the planting looks at the front of the house. The neighborhood children's favorite plant is the trimmed boxwood that they have named "The Slider Tree"

Tatting, Robbery and Inspiration

I am so glad I have tatting in my life. I have been so busy with physio and dealing with the robbery, that with the few spare moments I have I've been tatting and it is wonderful how it takes me away from all stress and makes me focus on how I can make nice things to give to others and put a smile on there face. Here is a picture of my progress with the doily I am working on.

A word of advice, Don't get Robbed. I just cannot believe how much work is involved after it has happened to file reports, get quotes, try and find receipts and then deal with the feelings of shock, violation, anger and loss of security. There is also the major inconvenience of not being able to use our back door so you have to go around the house to do anything in the backyard.

Our new door is on order because it is a weird size it has to be custom made. I sure hope it gets here fast.On to better things here is your inspiration for today.

Gem Stone and Weekend Inspiration

Gregg and I are collectors of Semi-precious stones, fossils, crystals. If you came to our house you would find them in display cases, on tables, window sills, floor displays in other words just about everywhere. I am going to share about some periodically and today's is fluorite. As you can see this mineral gives off beautiful coloured light when lit with different light and fluoresces when placed in ultraviolet light. It comes in many colours.

TATTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This blog has a little bit of everything and I would like to start of with my health. I am feeling better with each passing day and physio is going well. I am feeling so well that I am able to enjoy tatting again which brings me joy. I have a older student who comes to the house regularly and she is so eager to learn tatting that teaching her is a feel good moment. The last time she was here she brought a pattern for a doily that she thought she could do but it is a bit advanced for her so I am going to surprise her. I am making the doily for her because I know how much she will appreciate a piece of tatting. This is what it looks like so far.

Life and Inspirations

I am recovering from my surgery and doing a bit better each day. I am finally getting over my wound infection and my aggressive physio therapy is paying off. I am so happy to be putting this behind me. For the next little while the pictures on this blog will be of the gardens of the City of Brantford where my partner Gregg is a horticulturalist. I hope you enjoy them. Any questions just make a comment and ask and I will answer as soon as possible.

Time Off For Surgery

I hope everyone is enjoying the daily inspirations as much as I am. I will not be posting any for the next week or two as I am having much needed hip replacement surgery. I am looking forward to this surgery as it is something I have needed since September of 2009 and the pain I have been in since then has been horrific. I am looking forward to being able to sit in a bit of comfort and tat again as I have missed it greatly.

Until then here are a couple pictures of the Hawaiian coastline that I like to look at and think about the more positive things in life.I hope you will enjoy them too. See you soon.
