This was the doily I was doing for the tatting Olympics but I am going to get a DNF ( did not finish ) on it as I am going to take a break from it and test tat a doily for Linda called Starburst. The doily that I was working on was Party Time Doily from Traditional Tatting Patterns edited by Rita Weiss and is being made with Tourmaline Hand Dyed Thread from Yarnplayer size 80. This is my favorite thread that she makes so far.

Ooh, pretty. No matter what you tat, with or without Tourmaline, it is beautiful.

Wow! This piece is beautiful! I clicked on the photo so I could get a closer look and the details of this doily are amazing. Dark olive and purple are my favorite colors :)

Yes Diane I really like this doily pattern. Thank you for the compliment Laura, you are always so kind. Jo and Dave this HDT is my favorite colourway, I think it is the nicest yarnplayer makes.

Is this from the new batch already? I can't believe how fast you can tat! Your work is deserving of medals for both beauty and speed of execution!

I love tourmaline stones partly for their colours, your doily is just amazing! How do you find so much patience to tat so many big doilies !?!

This is stunning, Clyde. This is my favorite thread of all time, so that might be part of the reason I like the doily so much :-) Seriously, how do you find the time? You must tat at the speed of light.

I love the colors of this thread. I can't wait to see it when it is finished. I just made this doily, the large one, it took me 2 1/2 months and it is 22 1/4 in across. Here is a pic of it on my FB, you should be able to see it if you want to look.
