Well it is finally finished the first square of what will be the heirloom centerpiece. I think the finished piece will be four squares, more if I have the thread, possibly some kind of fancy border. We will have to see how it goes. I hope to have more tatting time in the next couple of weeks as the past few weeks have been busy doing samples for classes I am going to be teaching and testing some new thread, which have been fun to do but your big projects fall behind. I am going to be teaching a tatting at a local seniors center in July and am booked again to teach in October. It is always nice to see more people learning to tat. It is even more fun to teach seniors who have always wanted to learn what there Mother or Grandmother did not get a chance to teach them. Happy tatting everyone.

It is beautiful, Clyde. I am so excited to see the progress. An heirloom indeed. Your students are very fortunate to have such an adept teacher.
Your heirloom piece looks beautiful, Clyde! How large is it now? Have you been keeping track of how much thread you use?
I would love to do an heirloom piece, but I haven't found the right pattern for me yet. Maybe some day I'll design one!
Ah, that is very pretty! It looks so lacy and springy!
Wow, what an undertaking. SO pretty.
Thank you everyone. The heirloom piece is lacy as it is made from size 80 HDT. So for I have used just over 100 yards.
I am really looking forward to the teaching as it is so much fun seeing a students face when they fall in love with tatting.

Lovely heirloom doily. Love it square.
It is exquisite! How big will it be, in size 80?
I am hoping that the finished size will be about 18 inches by 18 inches.
Wow! I don't know how I missed seeing this. It's beautiful so far, and I'm looking forward to seeing how it looks when finished.
That's great that you are teaching tatting. I'm sure your students will learn a lot and enjoy your classes.
